Consignee – What Is It?
A Consignee is like the recipient of a package—it’s the person or business that receives the shipped vehicle at its destination. The consignee can be the shipper themselves, a buyer, a dealership, or anyone authorized to take delivery of the car.
Think of it as waiting at the airport for a friend’s arrival—instead of a person, you’re expecting a vehicle to be delivered, and you need to be there to sign for it.
Example:
Mike buys a car from a dealership in Florida and has it shipped to his home in Chicago. When the carrier delivers the vehicle, Mike is the consignee because he is the one receiving it. 🚗📦
